Biography:

Rebecca S. Thiem concentrates her practice at Zuger Kirmis & Smith in the areas of commercial law and litigation, employment law, and mediation.  Rebecca recently became a fellow in the International Society of Barristers and is named as a Leading Commercial Litigation Lawyer in the 2007 Chambers Guide.

Rebecca serves on the board of the Bismarck-Mandan Development Association.  She also serves on the Disciplinary Board of the North Dakota Supreme Court and the Board of Trustees of the National Conference of Bar Examiners.

Rebecca was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on November 12, 1950.  She graduated from Valparaiso University in 1972 and the North Dakota School of Law in 1980.  After graduation she clerked for Judge Myron Bright of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

She is married to Glenn Smith and has two children - Nancy and Luke.  Her hobbies include exercise, piano, fishing, and hunting.
